Choose the right length and shield height of your hockey Stick

It is important that your hockey Stick has the right length so that it does not hinder you when you play and so that you can have the entire blade in the ice when you stand up. Shield height is the most important thing. It's where you keep your hand when you stand up to face a shot. The entire blade should be in the ice when you are in your rescue position. It should feel natural and you shouldn't have to bend your legs too much or stretch for the blade to cover the ice between your legs.

Left-angled or right-angled Goalie Stick?

Hockey Sticks are available in left-angled or right-angled versions. Which one you should choose depends on which side you have the blade: · Left – If you hold the Stick in your right hand and the blade to the left, you should choose a left-angled Stick. · Right – If you hold the Stick in your left hand and the blade to the right, you should choose a right-angled Stick.

Goalie Sticks are usually available in one or two different blade variants, Curve or Heel hook. Most common is Curve. It can be e.g. P31 in BAUER or Price in CCM.
